Lee Young Ae to return to drama land next year.

Hallyu wave Korean actress, Lee Young Ae is set to make her come back next year in the new melo-drama set during the Japanese colonial period background espionage.

The production PD has announced on 3rd September, the actress will be taking the heroine lead in the new blockbuster drama entitled 'Lee Mong 이몽'. The drama is  set on the background of Kyungseong (currently is Seoul) and Shanghai, China during the Japanese colonial period. Lee Young Jin (played by Lee Young Ae) is a Korean surgeon who was raised by the Japanese, is an intelligence agent of the Republic of Korea's interim government and is jumping into the tornado of the Pacific War.

Lee Mong will be directed by PD Yoon Sang Ho who formerly directed the hit drama "Taewangsashingi: The Legend" who has also coincidentally did "Diary of Light: Saimdang" with the actress.

"Diary of Light: Saimdang" didn't seem to fare too well despite the mass production and anticipation after the actress was hiatus for a long period of time from wedding to family..etc.
Instead the viewer ratings were all taken by the underdog comical-work life corruption drama: "Good Manager Chief Kim" which aired at the same time with Saimdang early this year.

The scriptwriter are working on the casts and lines whereby the drama filming will begin next year.

Meanwhile the producers of the drama are the ones who did great sageuk series such as MBC's Ju-Mong, KBS2TV's Hwang Jin Yi and SBS's Doctor Stranger
