First thoughts on Hyena on the Keyboard series.

For the Chuseok season, KBS2 TV has screened latest episode of Hyena on the  Keyboard- 건반 위의 하이에나. The program features two MCs- Girls Generation Sunny and Jung Hyung Don

And for the first pilot episode the 4 important guests were talented musicians which are veteran singer/composer Yoon Jong Shin, pianist/composer Jung Jae Hyung, hip hop artist Gray and idol/composer Pentagon's Hui.

The four composers are invited to compose new songs to be sung at the attic and the episode featured their daily lives at home from waking up to composing new songs/lyrics and to inviting guest artist to sing their new song.

First up was pianist Jung Jae Hyung who is known for his weird ways and hairstyle. He has a grand piano at the lounge. He starts his day by cleaning the garden and lazing around to sitting at the grand piano humming away new tunes. He kicked off with a new melody and started writing the lyrics. Later on, he rang singer Uhm Jung Hwa inviting her over to have a chat. She was impressed by the melody noting it's a sad song. Jae Hyung reckon the song will suit few singers such as Jung Seung Hwan or BTOB's Yook Sung Jae.

Next up was Yoon Jong Shin who has a special work studio where he invited his close composer and lyricist. The two started off by listening to a song where Yoon composed and got Super Junior's Kyuhun to sing it. The melody was beautiful and blended well with Kyu Hun's voice. They worked until 2 a.m whereby the composer was seen yawning and looking sleepy.

Followed by Gray who is seen at his nicely looking music studio where he studied there for a long time composing new tunes and getting his rapper Loco in to work with him.

Last but not least is Pentagon's Hui who is probably more well known as the composer of Wanna One's debut song Energetic. He shares his excitement when his song  topped the music charts as soon as it was released. Wanna One's Lai Kuan Lin gave credit to him during their win. And not forgetting the song 'Never' was partly his contribution in Produce 101: S2 with Triple H. Hui struggled with the failing of his keyboard and computer whenever he started to compose music. He ends up watching football programs online! Hah!

It is shown later than Jung Seung Hwan collaborated with Jung Jae Hyung for the sad autumn ballad. As for Gray, he got his other team mates - Loco, Sleepy and Hoody to perform his self-composed song" I Am Fine." As for Yoon Jong Shin, he composed and sang the song by his own. LOL! Pentagon's Hui got rapper Jo Woo Chan to collaborate with him in this program.

Personally I like Hui's song... probably it has got the funk style song. I like Gray's song too however it has too much rapping involved that didn't bring out the song. Yoon's song is more of an old fashioned style song suitable for mature audience while Jae Hyung's ballad is definitely suitable for emotional times. He he!
