Filming cancelled for KBS 1 Night 2 Days program.

Following the recent MBC station's protest and strike, KBS weekend entertainment program is also showing signs of stopping production and recording.

According to KBS headquarters (new union) on 14th September, KBS 2TV weekend entertainment program '1 Night 2 Days', which was scheduled for 15-16th September, was cancelled.

1 Night 2 Days is always recorded fortnightly. As the shooting was cancelled from the first recording after the general strike began on 4th September, KBS is likely to join MBC's strike. The production of 1N2D has been put to a stop for only five years since the strike in March to June in year 2012.

Last week, the first night of the strike, 1N2D was broadcast by the executive director who did not participate in the strike. The KBS new union said, "If the cancellation of filming is in full swing due to the nature of 1N2D, whereby a recording that takes at least two months of preparation from planning to filming, normal broadcasting for a long period of time may be difficult."

The 6 production crew members (PD Yu Il Yong, Kim Sung, Park Jin Woo, Park Sun Hye, Yoon Myung Il and Kim Seul Gi) are all members of KBS new union. The production team said, "We will strongly agree on the striking to aim of clearing the abundance of KBS and establishing public broadcasting properly," he said. "We will give the audience a healthier image after the normalisation of KBS is achieved."

The KBS strike began last week and news programs such as 'KBS News 9', as well as current events, culture and radio programs, are being broadcast in a smaller reduced scale. The KBS new union said, "The new union have 83 members and most of the crew members of the arts organisations will be in trouble. In addition some higher ranking executives who did not participate in the strike are willing to support the new union."
