SM Ent. idols are moving towards Broadway musicals

The spike of interest in Broadway musicals in South Korea has somehow gathered lots of interest from local and overseas audience.

SM Entertainment has produced a number of musical actors from idol groups. Girls' Generation Seohyun, Super Junior's Kyuhun, SHINee's Key are among SM's top idol musical singers. SM Entertainment has signed licenses for the Broadway Musicals and to complete off with great casts. Catch Me If You Can musical featured the highlight song Singing in the Rain but at first it didn't receive a favorable reception. It was when first Hollywood actor Gene Kelly kicked off his career by singing this song and became famous. Musical singer J-Min from SM Town was featured in Hedwig, Seohyun was part of the cast in Gone with the Wind and Mamma!Mia along with Kyuhun in Three Musketeers and Catch me If You Can. SM is definitely expanding the range of choice to produce the show and planning it as well.

Not to forget the most successful musical actor/singer JYJ's Kim Jun Su of all time has repetitively won over the musical fans' hearts whenever his ticket sessions are on sale.
C-Jes Entertainment has a subsidiary company managing musical singers. Jeong Sun Ah who featured with Jun Su in musical Dracula is a successful female vocalist. Newcomer Hong Seo Young was signed in with C-Jes to appear in the new musical Dorian Gray with Jun Su.

JYP Entertainment is not losing bit of its share with Wonder Girls' Ye Eun and 2PM's Jun K as their musical stars too. The musical December featured the talented singer Kim Ye Won. YG Entertaiment Big Bang's Daesung was featured in the musical CATS in 2008.
