Actor Jang Dong Gun works with UN World Food Program.

Let's celebrate together with A-list actor Jang Dong Gun on '1000 Days' with love.

South Korea's popular actor Jang Dong Gun has been working continuously 8 years as a United Nations World Food Program (WFP) ambassador. WFP is the world's largest humanitarian activities and organizations in the forefront of hunger and poverty for a world without hunger- the theme is Zero Hunger. 

Jang is a father to two kids at home and has more interest in '1000 days and Nutrition Project "of the WFP. WFP helps one to ingest adequate nutrition of infants, pregnant women and lactating mothers. In 2012, after shooting the popular SBS drama "A Gentleman's Dignity ', Jang visited the Democratic Republic of the Congo with actor Kim Min Jong

They wandered into Congo aimlessly away from home where more than 200 million people in the engulfed in civil war. People are receiving the pain from war especially the women and children. When Jang first arrived at the refugee camp in Goma, he felt the pain looking at them. Young mothers were tearing leaves and breastfeeding the baby, he saw thirsty children eat while licking the water on the ground. The camp was so much painful than what the actor had imagined compared to the photos he has seen.

Every year 3.1 million children die of malnutrition or related to the disease. Half of all infants died from hunger while 200 million children live and endure the pain of hunger. If one could pay slightly more attention, these problems can be prevented. WFP will continue to '1000 days and Nutrition Project "is an effective way to prevent and cure malnutrition by providing nutritious foods to infants. Last year, 7.3 million people consisting of infants, pregnant women and mothers received a steady supply nutrition on monthly basis.
