Kang Ha Neul's new movie Dongju hits 1 million viewers.

1 over million viewers have turned up to watch actor Kang Ha Neul's new movie entitled "Dong Ju" which has screened in the cinemas since the last 24 days. According to the film distributor Mega Box Plus M, on 17th February was the original date for the first day of opening for the movie, around 2 pm on 12th February through computer network and internet the accumulative people who have started to look into this movie were around 100,000 or more.

So what is Dongju actually about. Dongju: Portrait of a Poet is about a renowned poet Yoon Dong Ju who was studying in Japan in 1945. He was then falsely charged and held behind bars for being involved in Korean Independence Movement. Dongju spend 2 years behind bars while writing lots of poems. At the age of 27, the young poet passed away in prison. Though many didn't know how Dongju died but some believed there was something to do with his medical ailments in his body. This is based on a true story.


Director Lee Joon Ik who is famed for filming movies such as King and the Clown, recently The Throne (Sado) has propelled budding actors Lee Jun Ki and Yoo Ah In into stardom in receiving many awards. Now he has picked the leading man Kang Ha Neul in this beautiful independent activist movie. Also starring in the movie is Park Jung Min, Kim In Woo, Shin Yoon Ju, Kim Jung Suk, Choi Hee Seo and Song Hong Il.
