INFINITE's L felt outcast apart from his looks

One of a major concern being a K-pop idol is greatly involving looks. Some idols never make it because they were either too short, too plump or too 'ugly' (that requires some touch up from the plastic surgeons) to correct their looks. Take an example Rain (Bi) failed couple of times in audition and was told he was not good looking so he couldn't make it even with his great dancing and height. Well who could guess now he's a fame singer who owns his an entertainment company and a self-proclaimed millionaire!

At times these young celebrities have pressure from their agency and fans around the world since they are been watched every single time they go on stage or even on the streets. Lately KBS2 has screened its latest episode on Family Dignity Full House where it features INFINITE member- L (Myungsoo) who is the visual of the group. Due to his sharp features, whenever he appears on any program, the hosts or emcees tend to compliment on his boyish face and charismatic eyes. INFINITE members are particularly envious of L's features. Leader Sunggyu has mentioned before that it's just not L's eyes, nose or lips...it's just his entire face is handsome.

However L is quite disappointed to know that people only recognize him as L - the visual of
the boyband and nothing else. (??!) He gets frustrated hearing their fans complimenting the other members that they have great vocals, humourous, charming..blah-blah..etc and what he gets is just 'Oppa, you're so handsome.' *grins*

L has expresses his concerns to his fans but they could not mention anything great about him except to keep praising his appearance. I really do understand where he's coming from...when one has all the looks and fame, what he/she yearns is real talent and other interests. (and here we are dying and wished we inherit those features...sighs
But on the otherhand idols always get recognized first because of their looks, not their talent in the first place. He himself knew about it and even mentioned at Beatles Code program when he wrote in high school what agencies are looking for- talent or looks or both?

The first time I ever noticed him was the promotion of 'Be Mine' in 2011 but then when I saw him in dramas, he totally stripped off from his idol image L to actor Kim Myungsoo. He has done a few dramas from Shut Up Flower Boyband, What's Mom, Master's Sun, Single Cunning Lady and My Loveable Girl. In fact he has released 2 photo albums which is part of his hobby and has no connection to his looks or INFINITE.
L- dont worry, i'll keep you as my 'dongsaeng' anytime to promote your talents to other PDs.
If no one recognizes your talent...I will. Hehe! *swoons*

One of the guests in the show was veteran singer Jo Young Nam brought up this matter that he was never ever complimented for his looks throughout his entire life. So in the case of L, being always praised handsome is actually a good thing! This brought L felt guilty and bowed at his senior making the studio audience cracking up in laughters.

Inspirit fans- you hear him now...L just doesn't want you to compliment on his face but also his inner talents. Perhaps the next time if you ever see L- do tell him he's great in acting and dorky too. He might remember you happily knowing at least you do recognize his other talents apart from just being visually good looking. Eventually rookies and idols will get recognized for their true talent and ability when they shine on stage or on TV.
